Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a new habit?

Tap the "+" button on the Today screen, enter a name for your habit, choose an icon and color, select the frequency, and tap Save. Your new habit will appear on your Today screen.

How are streaks calculated?

Streaks count consecutive days where you've completed a habit according to its schedule. For daily habits, you need to complete them every day. For specific-day habits (e.g., Mon/Wed/Fri), you only need to complete them on scheduled days. Missing a scheduled day breaks your streak.

What's the difference between Skip and not completing?

Skipping a habit marks it as intentionally missed for that day. By default, skipping breaks your streak, but you can enable "Skip Preserves Streak" in Settings to keep your streak intact when you skip.

How do I sync my habits across devices?

iCloud sync is a Premium feature. Once you've subscribed, go to Settings > Data Management and enable iCloud Sync. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID on all devices and have iCloud enabled.

How does Apple Health integration work?

With Premium, you can link habits to Apple Health metrics like steps, water intake, or exercise minutes. When you meet your threshold (e.g., 10,000 steps), the habit is automatically marked as complete. Enable this in Settings > Apple Health.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription:
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Find HabitStack and tap it
5. Tap Cancel Subscription

You'll continue to have access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.

How do I restore my purchase?

If you've previously purchased Premium and it's not showing up, go to Settings in the app and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.

Can I export my data?

Yes! With Premium, go to Settings > Data Management > Export Data. You can export in JSON format (full backup) or CSV format (completion history only). Your export includes all habits, completions, and stacks.

What are Habit Stacks?

Habit Stacks let you group related habits into a routine (e.g., Morning Routine). When you start a stack, habits appear one at a time in sequence, helping you build consistent routines. This is a Premium feature.

How do I add widgets to my home screen?

Long-press on your home screen, tap the "+" button in the top corner, search for "HabitStack", and choose from available widgets. Free users get access to one widget; Premium unlocks all widget sizes and types.

Is my data private?

Absolutely. All your data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account. We cannot see, access, or share your habit data. We don't use analytics or tracking. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
